IamtheCODE is the first African-led global movement to mobilize governments, the private sector, philanthropic foundations, investors and civil society to advance STEAMED (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics, Entrepreneurship and Design) education. Its goal is to mobilize these groups to invest in future technologies that can drive sustainable development for women and girls in marginalized communities. We aim to enable 1 million young women and girls’ coders by 2030

The Role

We are looking for a talented social media manager to administer our social media accounts. You will be responsible for creating original text and video content, managing posts, and responding to followers. You will manage our company image in a cohesive way to achieve our marketing goals. As a Social media manager, we expect you to be up to date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends. You should have excellent communication skills and be able to express our company’s views creatively. Ultimately, you should be able to handle our social media presence ensuring high levels of web traffic and customer engagement. You will oversee representing our company by building a social media presence for our brands. Run social media advertising campaigns and drive engagement by creating high-quality original written and visual content. Engage influencers, manage our community by responding to comments, and oversee our customer service platform on social media. Social media marketing experience will be essential if you want to succeed in this role. Experience working with and developing a marketing plan is also a plus.

Social Media Manager Responsibilities:

  • Creating high-quality original written and visual content for a social media campaign.
  • Build a social media presence and increase followers.
  • Coaching employees’ company-wide on content creation best practices.
  • Running company social media advertising campaigns.
  • Overseeing customer service provided via social media.
  • Monitoring company brand and building brand awareness on social media.
  • Analysing data.
  • Responding to comments on social media.
  • Engaging influencers.
  • Able to develop the right voice for each social media platform.

Social Media Manager Requirements:

  • Social media marketing experience.
  • Experience developing a social media strategy.
  • Experience working with and developing a marketing plan.
  • Proven ability to build a social media community.
  • Good English
  • Good attitude
  • Understanding of graphic design principles.
  • Meticulous and have good and creative writing skills
  • Experienced to work with our design team
  • Understand how to measure the success of campaigns.

Social Media Timeline

Social media – Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, ticktock, snapchat & Instagram – 6-10 posts per week all platforms)
